Annual World Wetlands Day Awareness initiatives

World Wetlands Day is commemorated annually in collaboration with the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) and other key stakeholders on the 2nd of February and seeks to educate people around the world about the importance of wetlands. The museum seeks to raise the awareness of the importance of wetlands through numerous activities geared to the schools and the general public, to mark the day each year. This includes annual:

  • Open Day at the Mason River Protected Area (featuring nature tours, educational activities, farmer’s market and wetland exhibits) 
  • Wetlands replanting exercises
  • Wetlands clean-up initiatives
  • Wetland Video productions
  • Mason River Protected Area Student Activity Booklet
  • Wetland webinar series
