The Museum’s Herbarium houses the largest botanical collections in the English speaking Caribbean.

It houses over 130,000 specimens of Angiosperms, Gymnosperms, Ferns, Mosses, Algae, Liverworts, Fungi and also small collections of seeds, woods and fruits. The collection mainly covers Jamaica, West Indies and continental areas bordering the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. The collection has an impressive 1,500 plant types and special collections of renowned botanists such as Ekman, Buch and Proctor.
