The Natural History Museum of Jamaica, a division of the Institute of Jamaica, has partnered with the operators of Highway 2000 East-West to establish the Biodiversity Awareness Programme (BAP), a project that began in 2011 with the establishment of a Biodiversity Center at the Chandlers Pen Primary and Junior High School in Chateau, Clarendon. The project later expanded through the installation of vegetable school gardens to include Freetown Primary, Moores Primary, Rosewell Primary Schools in Clarendon and the Independence City Primary School in Portmore, St. Catherine.
