The Medicinal Plants Database was created by the Botany Department, to highlight the medicinal importance of some of the local plants. The generation of this database stemmed from the common request by persons about the traditional use of herbs to treat common ailments, which is a common practice in our local society. It is the aim of this database to provide researchers, students and the general public, with access to information. This information will include brief descriptions of the plants, their modes of operation as well as their uses for different health conditions or diseases.
